More Professionalization - 11-2026
How do we actually recognize that accessibility is still a niche topic? By the fact that there are hardly any dedicated responsibilities in companies and public authorities. There are people for corporate design, for UX, and now for AI as well. But there are hardly any employees who are exclusively responsible for accessibility, even though questions and tasks regarding it pop up every day. The task is distributed across many people who are expected to do it in addition to their actual work, and who accordingly only act when a situation becomes acute. This is part of the reason why progress is moving at a snail's pace.
